Pastoral Care

A Family - For Life...

The pastoral life in the school is based on the house system. Every student is assigned to a house. Each house has its own independent hostel supervised by a house mentor, usually a senior faculty member and a full time house mother, who invariably is a lady teacher. The house mentor is assisted by a group of tutors and the house mother is assisted by a group of ayahs working around the clock. The house mentor being in charge of the house oversees the all round development of the student.

Living Together...

The senior students are encouraged to mentor the new and junior students. Any form of ragging is strongly discouraged and attracts heavy penalties. The school boasts of healthy conventions, where in the old students welcome the new batch of students with social evenings and ensure that they take on to the school life without much missing. Every student is assigned to a student mentor for the first few weeks so as to familiarize with the school infrastructure, practices and ethos.

Mothering...

The house mother takes care of all matters that usually the students real mother back would. From mending clothes, laundry, casual illness, morning activities to almost until the student goes to sleep.

Tutor, Local Parent, Guide, Techer & Friend...

Each student is assigned to a house tutor, who acts as a local parent as well as the tutor. As a parent, the tutor along with the house mother aids, assists and guides the student in all non academic activities. As a tutor, he is responsible for the students’ achievement in academics, sports or activities or any other extra curricular activity. For almost anything the tutor is the first point of contact for the student.

Student Democracy
Genuine forums for student democracy, whereby the students play a vital role in contributing to decisions that help govern the life of the school, is an important component. Every house, therefore, is captained by a house captain and a house prefect on a rotational basis. While they learn to accept and shoulder responsibility, it helps them build confidence in their ability to handle responsibility thus preparing them for their future roles.
