The French
Department of
SelaQui World
School
underlines the merits of
learning a foreign language. French is proposed in the
curriculum for students who are keen on learning a new
language that will surely broaden their perspectives.
At
SelaQui World School we insist on making the students active
in his
learning process, by class activities such as role play . oral
and written participation is encouraged in a big way.
Moreover , French is taught by a French native speaker. The
aim is both to teach the language and bring students closer
to the different aspects of the French Culture by way of
movies
music and literature. They are enlightened of the various
celebrations and festivals in France.
French is taught with a view to making the learning proves
active, rich and complete for our students. |

| SAT |

Originally SAT
stood for "Scholastic Aptitude Test".
In 1993, the test was renamed the SAT I: Reasoning Test .At
the same time, the former Achievement Tests were renamed the
SAT II: Subject Tests.
In 2004, the
numerals "I" and "II" were dropped and the tests are now
named the SAT Reasoning Test (or just SAT) and SAT Subject
Tests. SAT is a simple and
recognizable way of referring to the SAT Reasoning Test.

TOEFL |

The TOEFL
is the
test of English as a Foreign Language.
It evaluates the potential success of an individual to
comprehend and use Standard American English at a college
level.
It is required for
non- native applicants at English speaking colleges and
universities. for example, if one wishes to go Harvard or
Stanford, one needs a high TOEFL score, say 280(650 on paper
test). Many colleges only require a TOEFL score of about
133(450 on the paper test). |

IELTS |

The
International English Language testing System (IELTS) is a
test of English language proficiency,
developed by the University of
Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.
There are
two different IELTS tests :
Academic and General. The
former is used for university entrance in English speaking
countries. Candidates are tested in listening, Reading, writing and Speaking.
All candidate take the same Listening and Speaking Modules.
There is a choice between
Academic and General Training in the Reading and Writing
Modules.

Arts Department |

Students develop their skills in
music (Western & Indian) and drama.
Lessons focus on the areas of
performance, composition/devising and listening/appraising.
Performing Arts classes are compulsory
for all Students in classes V-X, 10 + Students have the option to
take the International Baccalaureate Diploma in music.
Students are encouraged to take part in performance and
shows and undertake beyond the syllabus. |
